Abstract

Students' scientific literacy scores in Indonesia are in the low category. One reason is the selection of learning resources. Teaching materials as learning resources are learning tools needed in the teaching and learning process. The teaching materials used in the city of Semarang have an unbalanced content of scientific literacy. The imbalance in scientific literacy content in class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Semarang is evidenced by the value of student learning outcomes in the Integrated Science subject. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility test and readability test of Integrated Science teaching materials based on scientific literacy with the theme Application of Style in Life for class VIII student learning at SMP Negeri 24 Semarang. The type of research used is Research and Development (R and D) which consists of four stages, namely the stage of gathering information followed by making product designs, product revisions with validation from two experts, then testing product legibility to class VIII students of SMP Negeri 24 Semarang in Integrated Science subjects. The results showed that the Integrated Science teaching material product was very feasible to use with the percentage of five categories namely 88.24% content feasibility, 90.63% presentation, 94.23% language, 90.38% graphics, and 90.74% literacy science. Integrated Science teaching materials have an average readability level of 88.42%, so they are included in the easy-to-understand category.
